 Goku and Vegeta return to training as Whis trains Goku to master Ultra Instinct, Beerus trains Vegeta in Destruction. Meanwhile, a Cerelian mercenary named Granolah learns that Frieza is alive, and promises to destroy him. He uses the Dragon Balls on his planet to become the strongest warrior in the universe, at the cost of his lifespan. The Heeters lie about their intentions and manipulate Goku and Vegeta into fighting Granolah. While Goku and Granolah fight, Vegeta recognizes Granolah, getting into a scuffle with the Heeters before breaking it up with Goku and resuming his fight with Granolah. As Granolah develops his abilities through battle he overpowers Vegeta while the Heeters search for the Dragon Balls.

The Heeters, a group of criminals, are searching for the Dragon Balls. They hire Granolah, a Cerelian who wants revenge on Frieza for destroying his home planet of Cerel. To help in his quest, Granolah uses the dragon balls to remove all limits on his strength. Granolah then fights Goku and Vegeta, easily defeating both.



Dragon Ball Super: Broly is a film directed by Tatsuya Nagamine and written by Akira Toriyama. It is the twentieth Dragon Ball feature film overall, the third film produced with Toriyama's direct involvement, and the first to carry the Dragon Ball Super branding.



The animated Dragon Ball Super series continues to follow Goku and his friends as they protect the Earth from extra-terrestrial threats. The anime, based on the popular Dragon Ball franchise created by Akira Toriyama, aired its first episode in Japanese in 2015. The episodes are set after the defeat of Majin Buu and have yet to appear in English. This is a review encompassing all the episodes of Dragon Ball Super not present in English at the time of this writing, but it does contain spoilers for those who prefer to avoid them.

Both stories challenge assumptions about what it means to be human.










In 2014, Toei Animation announced that the Dragon Ball manga would be receiving a new anime adaptation, Dragon Ball Super. The new series is a sequel to Toriyama's original Dragon Ball manga and the Dragon Ball Z television series featuring the first new storyline in 18 years since the final episode of the Dragon Ball GT television series in 1997.
